2025-2026 United Way Campaign Chair
LOU BLOXOM, CAMPAIGN CHAIR
The Board of Directors for the United Way of Virginia’s Eastern Shore is pleased to announce that Lou Bloxom will serve as the United Way Campaign Chair for the upcoming 2025 – 2026 season. Having been born and raised here on the Eastern Shore, Lou is abundantly aware of the needs and issues that face many of our neighbors. She brings to this role a lifetime of dedication, compassion, and leadership – qualities that embody the very mission of United Way.
Mrs. Bloxom is a compassionate and caring individual whose roots run deep here on the Shore. For 37 years, she has dedicated her life to teaching, shaping young minds, and inspiring generations of students with her passion for education and her unwavering commitment to excellence. Her impact in the classroom has extended far beyond the walls of her schools, touching families and our community as a whole.
Mrs. Bloxom is the owner of Louise’s on North Street in Onancock. She and her husband, Delegate Rob Bloxom, live on the seaside. The board is honored to have her guiding this year’s campaign, and looks forward to the energy, wisdom and community spirit she will bring to this important work.
The goal for this year’s United Way campaign is $200,000 and is very realistic if all of the Eastern Shore embraces the work of the United Way and its impact on agencies whose programs support a better quality of life for residents of the Shore.
Since its inception in 1991, the United Way has raised over $8,600,000 for local non-profits. Much of this money has been raised through employee campaigns and generous individuals who wish to make a difference in our community. All the funds raised stay on the Eastern Shore of Virginia to benefit our community.
